Calling In A Bomb Threat To Get A Ride

A Florida woman was arrested this week for allegedly calling in a bomb threat to a U.S. Navy recruiting office in hopes someone would give her a ride, according to an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

Priscilla Lee Bembow called the recruiting station at 524 N. Navy Blvd.  around 8:45 a.m. Monday morning, and asked First Class Petty Officer Charles Brockett  who answered the phone if he was “the government,” the arrest report said.

Acording to police reports she then told the Brockett that there was a bomb at an undisclosed location, and if someone didn’t come pick her up from the Raceway gas station on U.S. 29 “(expletive) was gonna go down,” the report said.  Calling In A Bomb Threat To Get A Ride is not a great idea!

Petty Officer Brockett notified his superiors, who in turn contacted 911.

Bembow was located at the Raceway and taken into custody. No bomb was located.

Bembow is currently being held in Escambia County Jail on $15,000 bond.
