Macaroni salad solves Build -A- Burger robbery in MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y

MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y.  Police Authorities quickly solved a burglary that happened early Sunday morning on May 10th, 2015 that was reported by the owners of Build- A- Burger restaurant. Conveniently the 3 suspects in custody left a trail of macaroni salad that lead to their arrest. The owners of Build-A-Burger restaurant told the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office that their restaurant had been broken into and their surveillance system and cash register had been stolen early Sunday morning.

While on patrol the Sheriff Deputies checked out a nearby hiking and biking path, where they found cash register parts, surveillance system parts, rubber gloves, loose change and “a steady trail of macaroni salad.”

Included in the burglary report Police were also informed that three men had stolen a large bowl of macaroni salad. It appears that suspected burglars took turns eating the salad while making their getaway.

Following the trail of Macaroni lead to the capture of the three suspected burglars proving Macaroni salad leads to burglary arrests.

The suspects taking into custody early Sunday afternoon were Matthew P. Sapetko, 34, of Mt. Morris, James P. Marullo, 35, of Mt. Morris, and Timothy S. Walker Jr., 23, from Idaho. All men were all charged with burglary in the 3rd degree, criminal mischief in the 3rd degree and grand larceny in the 4th degree.  They were arraigned and committed to Livingston County Jail.
